Frank Weichert is a private lecturer for computer science at the TU Dortmund University, Germany. He earned his Ph.D. (2010) and his habilitation (2019) at the TU Dortmund University. Research fields focus on the overlapping domain between computer graphics, machine learning and human-machine interaction. This includes topics such as intelligent sensors, sensor-actuator interaction, additive manufacturing or VR/AR as well as fundamental research questions on graph neural networks, data visualisation and geometry processing. The research focuses on theory and practice. He is project leader and initiator of various research projects (e.g., DFG, BMBF, BMWi) and pre-commercial research and development projects. He is also author of more than 200 papers in well acknowledged conferences and journals.
